Bed time routines

Just wanted to record Corbin's current bedtime routine for posterity. It's pretty cute.

When we change him into jammies, he goes potty and brushes his teeth and then gets in a diaper. He turns off the light, turns on his white noise machine, and turns on his turtle (and always turns it to the blue light lately). Brit has a routine with him of turning on his Christmas lights and then turning them off between songs.... he doesn't get to do this with Mommy.

We sit in his rocker and sing a couple verses of "Piano Man." I used to sing him primary songs, but at one point a few months ago he stopped me and said "No mommy! Pano man!" He's getting to the point where he sings bits of it along with us.

After Piano Man, we get in bed and sing Code Monkey. He can also sing bits of this with us. Brit lets him fill in the last word- ie, "Code monkey get up get..." "Coffee!"

After Code Monkey, Corbin gets up and locks his door, and goes back to bed to be tucked in and given ELEVEN hugs and SIX kisses (this is always how many he asks for), I give him a snuggle and ask what his favorite part of the day was, give him lots of loves, cover him with his blankie and give him his panda bear, and say goodnight. Brit and Corbin have a routine of saying "Goodnight Corbin!" "Goodnight Daddy!" Louder and louder through the door as he walks away. Daddy is more fun at bedtime, but for some reason he always wants Mommy lately.
